Lena Dunham reveals why she chose to open up about her rape: "It was about exposing my shame"
Lena Dunham has opened up about why she decided to talk about her rape and has apologised to a man who had been wrongly accused of being her attacker.
The Girls star recently released her memoir, Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "Learned , " and in it, she recalled being raped when she was a Republican Oberlin student eight years ago.
The shocking account sparked much debate, with some questioning whether Dunham had even been telling the truth.
