Paul McCartney: It's ridiculous there are now courses for people to study The Beatles

The former Beatle has said he finds it "flattering" but that people can't learn to became great musicians by studying popular music




Sir Paul McCartney says it is “ridiculous” that students are now studying The Beatles as a course subject.

A student taking an MA in Popular Music in Liverpool asked what Sir Paul felt about such courses with a focus on The Beatles.

In a post on his website, he said: “For me it’s ridiculous, and yet very flattering.

“Ridiculous because we never studied anything.
