The Theory of Everything star is tipped for glory ahead of Benedict Cumberbatch and Birdman's Michael Keaton.
Eddie's performance as Stephen Hawkins in the biopic continues to win him rave reviews and bookies William Hill have made him 1/2.
Keaton is on 9/4, Cumberbatch at 4/1, while Jake Gyllenhaal and Ralph Feinnes are both on 25/1 for the category.
