Josie Cunningham’s engagement ring A FAKE?: “This probably cost less than £100”

Britain’s most hated woman got engaged last week, but jewellery expert doesn’t believe the rock is real diamond

Josie Cunningham has big dreams of a Las Vegas wedding after her fiancé Andrew Goy popped the question last night, but she might be disappointed to learn that her sparkler isn’t real.

NHS scrounger Josie showed off her pink heart-shaped ring on Twitter to announce that she was set to get married, but a jewellery expert reckons that it probably cost around £100.

Fine diamond jewellery expert Lewis Malka says: “The strength of the pink and the size of the stone makes me think the stone isn't a real diamond. A real diamond ring like that would set you back a couple of million pounds. This one probably cost less than £100.”

Earlier this week, Josie's family staged an intervention on Monday night - in a desperate bid to STOP the publicity-mad star marry a convicted woman-beater.

The Leeds-born model announced she was to wed her new boyfriend Andrew Goy on Twitter on Monday afternoon.

Following the news, Josie's closest friends and family members dashed to the star's home to try and stop the wedding plans.

A source close to the star said: "Eleven of Josie's friends and family turned up at her house last night to express their concerns.

"Originally Josie shut the door and wouldn't let any of them in. She only eventually opened the door because there were photographers sat outside."

"Josie wasn't aware of there being two accounts of domestic violence, she only knew about the one.

"Andy was meant to stay at Josie's last night, but ended up having to travel back to Nottingham as friends and family refused to leave her home until they were sure he wasn't coming back."
